| Inmate cuts officer and flees jail |

Authorities found him hiding inside the wall of a North Phenix City home off Fletcher Drive. Bass was jailed in Meriwether County (Ga.) for methamphetamine charges. He also had outstanding warrants in Lee County, Alabama, including more meth charges and alluding a police officer. Before police cuffed Bass, he put up a fight. Resisting arrest will also be added to his list of charges. He's being held in the Lee County Detention Center on $58,000 bond. Russell, Lee and Meriwether County Sheriff's Deputies helped track Bass down, along with Phenix City Police and the U.S. Marshal's Department. The officer who was cut is recovering from minor injuries in Meriwether County. |
