Supplying heroin to two Crawford County jail inmates who overdosed at the jail last year has cost a Saegertown woman her own freedom. Emily E. Johnson, 30, was sentenced Monday by Judge Mark Stevens in Crawford County Court of Common Pleas to serve 11 1/2 to 24 months less one day followed by two years of probation for conspiracy to provide a controlled substance. Johnson pleaded guilty Aug. 28 to the felony count of conspiracy and could have received up to 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Based on Johnson's low prior record score and the level of the crime, Johnson was facing a standard range sentence of nine to 16 months — or up to 22 months if there were aggravating circumstances. Andrew Natalo, a Crawford County assistant district attorney, argued for an aggravated range sentence based on Johnson's willing involvement. Read More. |
