Inmate accused of setting fire at NC state prison |

LAURINBURG — Law enforcement officials have accused an inmate of setting a fire at a North Carolina prison. WITN-TV in Greenville reports the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Casey Tyler was an inmate at the Scotland Correctional Institution when deputies say he intentionally set fire to his housing unit on Nov. 21. Deputies say Tyler was caught on prison video dragging his mattress out into the common area and setting fire to it, then using a broken stick to try to attack correctional officers trying to help other inmates.
