Prison staff exposed to substance suspected to be fentanyl

MARION, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Three staff members at Marion Correctional Institution were treated and released from a hospital Thursday after being exposed to a substance suspected of being fentanyl.

A spokesperson for Marion City Fire Department said firefighters were called to MCI just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday after getting a report of the exposure.

"Those patients came to us initially complaining off weakness, nausea," explained Marion City Fire Captain Wade Ralph.
