Offender Escape and Apprehension |

The Colorado Department of Corrections confirms that at approximately 12:05 am, offender Leonard Sittingbear # 165344 walked away from the Skyline Correctional Center. The offender was apprehended a short time later at Highway 115 and McCumber Lane by the Florence Police Department. Leonard Sittingbear, DOC# 165344, was convicted of motor vehicle theft and traffic violations out of Douglas County. He was eligible for parole since 04-15-18 and has a mandatory release date of 01-27-2020. He began serving his sentence on 05-10-17. The Department of Corrections would like to thank their staff and local law enforcement officials for their work in the quick apprehension of the offender. At this time the incident is still an active investigation, no further details can be released at this time. |
