A Greenwood County, S.C., inmate was captured just two hours after he escaped from police custody on Thursday. Deputies say 29 year-old Marvin John Bagwell was taken to the hospital for minor finger surgery after he assaulted an officer guarding him. Bagwell ran out of the hospital but was found about two hours later hiding in the closet of a nearby home. He has been charged with escape, assault on a correctional officer and resisting arrest.Authorities say Bagwell was serving 120 days in jail for driving under suspension, not having car insurance, an illegal license plate and resisting arrest. Bagwell's mother and a 19-year-old woman have been charged wth helping him escape. |
