Warden: Inmate burning paper causes fire at Allegheny County Jail |

No injures were reported in a fire Friday morning at the Allegheny County Jail, according to Warden Orlando Harper. The fire was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Harper said officers noticed heavy smoke coming from a cell on Pod 6D, and, on further investigation, found an inmate had been burning paper in his cell. According to Harper, the inmate then threw the burning paper into a vent, causing heavy smoke to fill his cell. Read More. |
