| Gaston inmate charged with punching deputy |

An inmate at the Gaston County Jail is charged with hitting a deputy sheriff and damaging a correctional officer’s property. Michael Caleb Pace, 22, punched a deputy sheriff in the “right cheek and right forehead” on Dec. 30, according to an arrest warrant issued for Pace, who was already in jail at the time of the alleged incident. The deputy was reportedly trying to “control a disruptive inmate” at the time. Separately, Pace is charged with “wantonly” damaging a digital watch belonging to another detention officer at the jail, according to the warrant. Read More. |
