Dyer County Jail awarded $250K state grant to fight recidivism |

A Dyer County Jail program designed to keep inmates from returning to jail will get a $250K boost in 2019 thanks to a state grant. The grant funds will be used to build a female re-entry work center at Dyer County Jail, Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said. The jail already operates an all-male Dyer County Correctional Work Center program, which has yielded significant decreases in participant recidivism since it opened in 2015. "We've got a lot of stakeholders that are very excited about us receiving the grant, and it's a great win for our community," Box said. "It's a great win for the females here that actually are wanting to change their lives and re-enter society as a successful (person)." Read More. |

Hamilton loves his family of five and badminton. His favorite sports ball team is the McGregor Dodgeballers. He has worked as a foreman on a chain gang, and later in life he was an architect of skyscrapers and tunnels. He was forced to give up his career because he was terrible at math. Hamilton has a keen attention to detail. He enjoyed watching bowling on TV and spent most every weekend on the couch falling asleep. He was a demon at croquet. He also enjoyed war movies and baking shows. Hamilton Lindley is constantly helping others less fortunate and lending a helping hand for relatives and friends in need of encouraging words. He coaches different sports and provided guidance for people who needed it, and a few who didn’t want it.
