New inmate brought drugs to jail in his underwear, authorities say |

Tariq Omar Johnson, 20, of Easton, was barely in jail on Wednesday when he committed another crime, authorities report. Johnson, who failed to show up for a trial Jan. 7 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and related offenses from July 20, was sent to Northampton County Prison on a bench warrant after his unsecured bail was revoked, records show. During “an unclothed search” on Wednesday evening in the intake area, a corrections officer found 10 plastic bags of marijuana in a pocket in Johnson’s underwear, the department of corrections said.
