Mistakenly released inmate back in custody |

CATLETTSBURG, Ky. - A Boyd County Detention Center inmate who was mistakenly released early Tuesday morning was captured about three and a half hours later. According to a news release from the center, inmate Robert Brewer was inadvertently let go at 5:16 a.m. after he was able to identify himself as another inmate who was scheduled to be released. The mistake was due to "human error" on the part of a detention center employee, according to the news release. Brewer had been in custody on charges relating to fraudulent use of a credit card, giving an officer false identifying information, resisting arrest, and assault 3rd degree (police officer), according to the jail.
