Champaign County Jail inmate tests positive for tuberculosis |

URBANA — An inmate at the Champaign County Jail has tested positive for tuberculosis, according to the sheriff's office. The inmate is hospitalized and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District already has an investigation under way, according to health district Administrator Julie Pryde. The sheriff's office said on Feb. 27, inmates at the jail told the medical staff that another inmate had been experiencing a cough accompanied by blood. The inmate told the jail's medical staff that he'd been coughing with some bleeding for a month or two and was given a chest X-ray. Read More. |
