Missing prisoner turns himself in at Omaha Correctional Center

A prisoner who walked away from the Omaha Correctional Center turned himself in Sunday, authorities said.

Adrian Rodriguez, 26, returned to the facility at 2323 Ave. J about 8 a.m. Rodriguez was placed on escape status Saturday morning, when he failed to return from work to the facility just south of Eppley Airfield.

Rodriguez is serving a three-year sentence for third-degree assault of a peace officer. His tentative release date is scheduled for May 9, 2019. His case will be referred to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office for the determination of additional charges.
