Inmate Takes Life At Harford Detention Center: Sheriff |

BEL AIR, MD — A 30-year-old inmate at the Harford County Detention Center took his own life after he was denied bail this week, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. While his death remains under investigation, authorities said that they do not suspect foul play. Marlyn William Barnes, 30, of the 5400 block of Lewellen Avenue in Gwynn Oak, had been booked at the detention center on Tuesday, April 9. He was charged with first and second-degree assault as well as violating a protective order.
