A one-of-a kind vintage plane that took off from Chino Airport crashed Monday, April 22, in the prison yard of the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco, according to Federal Aviation Administration officials.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau late Monday afternoon called it a “fatal plane crash.”
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said the plane crashed next to a prison yard, but no staff or inmates were seriously injured. One inmate did have scratches, a release from the department said.
