BOONVILLE — An inmate at the Boonville Correctional Center is facing another felony charge after investigators say he assaulted another inmate in late March. Tyler Scott Ward, 24, of Blodgett, assaulted Corby Williamson, 25, of Sullivan, around 6 a.m. on March 28, according to an affidavit from Missouri Department of Corrections investigator Brian Armer. Ward hit Williamson in the face without any warning, put him in a headlock and threw him to the ground. Ward got on Williamson’s back and hit him repeatedly in the back of the head, causing his head to slam against the concrete floor, according to Armer. Ward now faces between 5 and 15 years in prison for a charge of violence to an inmate by an inmate. He has served just over three years of a 15-year sentence from Scott County in southeast Missouri for his third burglary conviction, a sentence running concurrently with a seven-year sentence for unlawful possession of a firearm and sentences of four and seven years for his two other burglary convictions, according to court records.
