Sheriff's deputies continue their search today for two inmates who escaped from the Saint Mary Parish (La.) Jail Monday. Sheriff's Office spokesman John Sonnier says 25-year-old Corey Lee Percle and 26-year-old Cecil Michael Stratton, both of Morgan City, escaped through a fence in the jail's recreation yard. Sonnier says Percle was sentenced earlier this month to 10 years in prison for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Stratton is serving seven years for a parole violation and was awaiting trial on charges of armed robbery, burglary of a pharmacy and simple criminal damage to property. Sonnier says investigators are still trying to determine how the men got past the fence. |
