ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An inmate at Lehigh County Jail may end up staying a little longer than planned after allegedly assaulting a pair of prison guards. District Judge Karen Devine on Wednesday arraigned Jonathan Maisonet on two counts each of simple assault and aggravated assault in connection to a pair of incidents earlier this year in county jail. She set bail in each case at $25,000. On Feb. 24, Maisonet was walking through the jail with a towel around his neck that he used to hit a sergeant on the top of the head, according to court records. When the guard asked what he was doing, Maisonet allegedly squared up and started throwing punches, according to records. Read More. |
