An investigation has been opened following the death of a 33-year-old inmate at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, according to state police. Troopers from the Somers barracks conducted a joint investigation with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations after the incident on Wednesday, May 8. Police say the investigation determined that the inmate, identified as 33-year-old Melanie Liverpool, was the victim of an apparent suicide. Read More. |
