Teen inmates charged with attacking CO |

RAY BROOK — Two teenage inmates accused of attacking a corrections officer at the Adirondack Adolescent Offender Facility here were charged May 10 with assault and strangulation, almost three months after the alleged attack. State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision spokesperson Thomas Mailey said two teens incarcerated at the facility have been charged with one count each of assault and strangulation. The New York State Police obtained warrants for their arrest following the alleged attack Feb. 18. The union that represents the state’s corrections officers, the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, said in February that one inmate choked and beat a corrections officer nearly to unconsciousness during a physical altercation as another inmate punched the guard several times.
