DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. -- Officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Davie County Detention Center around 11:45 Tuesday morning.

Lucio Rodriguez Barboza was last seen climbing over the fence of the outdoor recreation area.
  • He's charged with kidnapping, second-degree rape and assault on a government official.
  • According to Davie County officials, Barboza should be considered dangerous.
