Prisoner sentenced for severely assaulting Lexington correctional officer |

A Gaston man on Wednesday was sentenced for assaulting and severely injuring a Lexington County Detention Center officer, Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard said. Joshua Travis Rossman, 23, pleaded guilty to first degree assault and battery for injuring a correctional officer while in the Lexington County Detention Center on unrelated charges, Hubbard said. Rossman was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge William P. Keesley to eight years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections followed by three years of probation. According to Hubbard, on January 5, while at the county jail, Rossman engaged in a verbal altercation with a correctional officer who was in the process of locking down the pod. Read More. |
