Inmate accused of punching correction officer headed toward trial |

A man who is serving a 35-year prison term for murder is headed toward trial on an accusation that he punched a correctional officer at a Suffield prison because he wanted to be transferred to Connecticut’s “supermax” prison in Somers. Jason Goode, 44, of Waterbury is facing a charge of assaulting public safety personnel in the punching incident, which occurred at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield on Jan. 5, 2018. Goode was charged in the case in June 2018 and rejected a plea offer in Enfield Superior Court a year later, court records show. His case has been transferred to Hartford Superior Court. Read More. |
