SNEADS, Fla. — A Florida inmate is facing attempted premeditated murder charges after the Department of Corrections said he attacked three officers with an improvised knife. The FDC said Tyrece Fleming assaulted the officers Sunday after an interaction he had with them earlier in the day. Investigators with the Office of Inspector General said Fleming left the area, got an improvised knife -- known as a "shank"-- and "returned specifically to inflict deadly harm to three officers." When one officer had cleared a gate, Fleming stabbed him repeatedly before going to stab two other officers who were in the area, the FDC said. At one point, Fleming "begins to dance around" and goes after one of the officers again, according to an arrest affidavit. Read More. |
