An inmate who authorities say walked away from a Boyd County jail work crew last week has been taken into custody in Lawrence County, Ohio. Boyd County Jailer William Hensley said Michael Litteral, 44, of Ashland, went missing from a work crew while mowing grass in a rural part of the county off Route 5 on Wednesday. A warrant was issued for Litteral's arrest soon afterward, and when investigators with the Boyd County Sheriff's Department reached out to Ohio authorities to ask them to check on an address Litteral might be at, authorities learned Litteral had already been arrested. "We looked and the last phone calls he had (at the jail) were from Ohio so we figured that's where his family is at and we notified (Lawrence County authorities,)" Hensley said. "The last people who put money on his commissary -- that came from Ohio. So, they were actually able to capture him in Lawrence County, Ohio — we called over to Lawrence County and they said we already arrested him." Read More. |
