INDIANTOWN— A man serving time at the Martin Correctional Institution in Indiantown was accused of slamming and beating his cell mate until the man went brain dead and later died. Ronald Deller, 30, was arrested Monday afternoonon one felony charge of second-degree murder after corrections officers at the prison found his cell mate on April 9 bleeding from his head. Second-degree indicates a killing that was not intentional. Corrections officers said they found Deller's cell mate unconscious with head injuries in April. Officers said the man was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce where he died on April 11. Read More. |
