| Prisons, community partners hold transition fairs for inmates who may soon be released |

TAFT — Jamie Mayes smiled as she greeted inmates and jotted down names on a yellow notepad Thursday inside the chapel at Eddie Warrior Correctional Center while offering information about potential manufacturing jobs. Across the room, Thomas Floyd from Oxford House asked every person who stopped by his table about their plans when released from prison. He wanted to make sure they had somewhere to go. Close to a dozen community partners came together to help inmates who may soon be released through a recent criminal justice reform measure. On Thursday, they met with dozens of inmates from Eddie Warrior and nearby Jess Dunn Correctional Center during the first of more than two dozen transition fairs that will take place in prisons throughout the state during the next few weeks.
