| MCTC inmate injured in apparent fight |

An inmate had lacerations to his face following an apparent fight Thursday morning at the Maryland Correctional Training Center south of Hagerstown, according to Mark Vernarelli, spokesman for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. A correctional officer saw two inmates who appeared to be involved in a brief altercation as inmates were returning from breakfast around 5 a.m., Vernarelli said. The injured inmate was treated by prison medical personnel and then sent for treatment outside the prison as a precaution, he said. Read More. |
