The Tennessee correction commissioner doesn't have a valid driver's license after it was suspended because of an unpaid traffic ticket in Louisiana. So says a Tennessee safety department spokeswoman. Spokeswoman Melissa McDonald says Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Quenton White must pay $140 in Louisiana, reapply for a Tennessee license and pass an eye exam. She said she did not know what violation White was cited for. White was appointed by Gov. Bredesen to lead the state prison system in 2003. He was formerly the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. White did not immediately respond to a phone call seeking comment. |
