| Douglas County inmate dies |

Officials at the Douglas County, Neb., Department of Corrections said an inmate died Monday afternoon. At about 12:10 p.m. a 40-year-old man, who was being held at the Douglas County Community Center, died. The inmate was assigned to the work release program and was at a business in Council Bluffs, Iowa, when he reportedly began feeling ill. Someone at the business contacted 911. The inmate was pronounced dead at the scene. The inmate's identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives. |
