State police are searching for an inmate who failed to return to the Mercer County Jail after being out on a furlough for a funeral.

Travis Nicholas Brandt, 18, was supposed to be back at the jail at 5 p.m. Monday.

State police said he was last seen by family members in Hermitage where he fled the vehicle transporting him back to the jail.
