An inmate who broke out of a central Idaho jail Sunday evening is still on the loose. Custer County Jail administrator Linda Dubiel says Christopher John Baccelli hasn't been located. Baccelli thwarted a lock to an outside yard by using a piece of cardboard. After opening the door, he scaled a fence and fled. Jail officials say he may have had help from somebody who brought him civilian clothing. Jail officials didn't discover he was gone until the next morning because he'd put pillows under a blanket on his cot to resemble a sleeping body. Baccelli had been held on a California warrant. But officials there hadn't yet filed paperwork to have him extradited. As a result, Custer County officials had planned to release him Monday. Now, however, he faces felony escape charges. |
