Delaware Department of Correction announces fourth inmate death, increase in cases |

Another Delaware Department of Correction inmate died of coronavirus Sunday, announced the DOC. He had underlying medical conditions which contributed to his death. Multiple new cases of inmate and corrections officers at Howard Young Correctional Institution were also announced, as well as the full recovery of every previously reported ill inmate from Sussex Community Corrections Center. Department Spokesman Jason Miller said the 81-year-old inmate, Jim Hunter, was serving a 10-year sentence for unlawful sexual contact and child abuse. He was housed in minimum security housing at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center and had been closely monitored and tested multiple times for the virus. Read More. |
