Two jailers test positive for COVID-19, staff and inmates awaiting results |

Employees and inmates at the Teton County Jail were tested for COVID-19 on Monday after two detention officers tested positive for the virus last week. Only four of about a dozen inmates consented to tests, Sheriff Matt Carr said, and he didn’t force the others because spacing is possible in a 40-bed facility with such a low inmate population. When the two officers tested positive last week three employees who were in contact with them were tested immediately; those tests came back negative, Carr told the News&Guide on Monday. “We are doing contact tracing and trying to minimize our exposure,” he said.
