| Former jail officers plead guilty in inmate sex case |

Five former Genesee County (Mich.) jail officers who authorities say let inmates have sex in jail each pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges in the case. The pleas last Tuesday keep them from facing 5-year felony charges. In the deal, they pleaded to willful neglect of duty, a 6-month misdemeanor, and may no longer work in law enforcement in the county. Officials claimed that in early 2004 officers allowed trysts between a female former prostitute and a man waiting for a state Supreme Court decision on a murder conviction. |
