A DuPage County (Ill.) Jail inmate was charged last Thursday with trying to arrange the murder of a witness in a case pending against him, according to the sheriff's office. William Kaspar, 34, of the 2200 block of Grove Street, Blue Island, was to appear in court last Friday for a bail hearing on charges of solicitation to commit murder for hire and solicitation to commit murder, according to a statement. Kaspar was being held awaiting sentencing on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender and on a pending charge of criminal damage to property. Jail officers learned that Kaspar was looking for a hit man and investigators put Kaspar in touch with an officer posing as a killer-for-hire. Kaspar allegedly offered the officer cash. It does not identify the intended target. |
