Tracallen Streeter was charged last Friday with attempted first-degree murder in the stabbing of inmate Jason Olson inside the Sedgwick County (Kan.) Jail. The assault took place shortly after 8:30 p.m. last Tuesday. Georgia Cole, spokeswoman for the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office, said the attempted murder charge against Streeter has special allegations because the victim was an inmate. Streeter, 44, was being held at the jail for Reno County authorities and as a fugitive from justice in Texas. Streeter escaped from a work detail in Texas and is accused of shooting a Hutchinson police officer during a routine traffic stop early on April 25. In connection with that incident, he was charged with two counts of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, and criminal possession of a firearm. |
