Jail finds 33 more inmates exposed to TB
By Associated Press
Published: 07/11/2005

Officials in McCracken County (Ky.) have tested inmates at the Regional Jail in Paducah for tuberculosis after two were found to have contracted the disease.
Jail officials say tests showed that 39 inmates have been exposed to the disease, but none have contracted it.
A man and a woman who had lived together tested positive for active TB at the jail. That prompted health officials to test about 400 inmates.
The couple has since been transferred to a state prison facility.
The inmates exposed to the infected couple will be given antibiotics to help prevent them from getting the disease.
