Dr. Lester Lewis Jr. has been appointed medical director of the Tennessee Department of Correction. Lewis, a contract physician for Nashville-based Corrections Corp. of America in Clifton, Tenn., replaces Dr. Donald Boatright, who retired in May. Lewis also has worked as medical director for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and as corporate medical director for Prison Health Services, a subsidiary of Brentwood-based America Service Group Inc. There are more than 19,000 inmates in the state's 15 prisons. Three of those facilities are managed privately. |
