Unruly inmates prompt 12-hour jail lockdown
By Los Angeles Times

About 20 unruly inmates clogged toilets and flooded cells at the Riverside County Jail in French Valley, Calif., forcing jailers to impose a modified lockdown for more than 12 hours, authorities said.
"A group of inmates were upset with each other," Sgt. Earl Quinata said Thursday.
Inmates stuffed cell toilets just after midnight, causing water to flood cells and a common room in a section of the Southwest Detention Center.
Quinata said the modified lockdown at the 1,070-inmate jail was imposed as a precaution.
"This type of situation creates a security concern," he said.
