Authorities said Monday that a baby died after being born prematurely to a female inmate in the Oklahoma County Jail. The woman's name was not immediately released. County officials said only that the inmate is a middle-aged woman. Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kelly Marshall said the baby was born Friday in the medical ward on the 13th floor of the jail. Marshall said miscarriages at the jail are not common, but added that there are several pregnant inmates. |
