A jury has handed down a decision in the case of a Richland County (S.C.) man who committed suicide while in jail. The jury ruled that 29-year-old Antonio Richburg killed himself "due to the actions or in-actions of persons unknown". They also found that Richburg's death was because of "a lack of care by the health care providers" at the Richland County jail. He was found dead in his cell on May 20th. The inquest was called for by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. He and the Solicitor's Office plan to meet this week to decide the next step. |
