| Delta Correctional inmate hospitalized following altercation |

An altercation between several inmates at Delta Correctional Facility in Miss. early last Sunday morning left one man in critical condition, according to Carolyn McAdams, public information officer for Delta Correctional Facility. McAdams, who could not disclose the inmate's name, said the inmate was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson. Custody of the inmate has been transferred to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, she said. DCF Warden Jerry Parker could not be reached for comment. Department of Corrections officials provided no information. The other inmates, who are now in lockdown, were examined by the medical staff at the penitentiary and found unharmed. McAdams said the cause of the incident is still under investigation. |
