Two inmates serving time for drug offenses walked away from the minimum security satellite camp at the Taft Correctional Institution in Calif. July 13. The inmates were reported missing after the 10 p.m. prisoner count, prison spokeswoman Mandy Ruff said. Ruff identified the escapees Edwin Leonardo Gillette 42, and Paul Pisciotta, 40. Neither man has a history of violence, according to TCI officials. Gillette is described as a white male with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5-7 and weighs 200 lbs. He was serving time for importing cocaine and his projected release date was in July 2010. Pisciotta is a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-5 and weighs 170 lbs. He was in custody for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and was scheduled to be released in July 2011. Ruff said officers at the federal prison searched the area around the camp, which is located adjacent to the TCI low security federal prison, when the inmates were reported missing. Other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies were also notified. Anyone with information about the escapees is urged to call 763-2510. |
