| Inmate Attacks Jail Guard with Mop Handle |

Wicomico County (Md.) Detention Center officials say an inmate attacked a correctional officer there last Wednesday. Officials say the inmate took a metal mop handle, poked it through a slot in a locked door and hit the officer on his head. The officer was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and given a tetanus shot. As of last Friday morning officers were still trying to find out which inmate it was. |
