A state prison inmate is in critical condition after being beaten up by his cellmate in Suffield, Conn. Officials say a prisoner serving 30 years for sexual assault was severely beaten by his cellmate at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Facility. An officer on rounds noticed that one of the two cellmates appeared to have a puffy face. When the officer opened the cell, he realized the two men had been fighting. No charges have been filed in the case but State Police detectives are investigating. The victim's cellmate is serving two years in prison for burglary. Names of both inmates are being withheld. |
