| Inmate Escapes, Caught Hours Later |

Richard Small was back into custody within hours after being found last week at his girlfriend's house in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Authorities say Small was among 14 inmates working in the vegetable gardens behind the jail. An officer responsible for overseeing the crew noticed Small was missing during a head count at three o'clock. Chief Deputy Kevin Joyce says Small's girlfriend cooperated. She apparently was under the impression that he'd been released early. Small was in jail for violating terms of probation stemming from a burglary charge. |
