A Hardeman County, Tenn., Jail inmate died early Friday morning after jail officials rushed her to Bolivar Community Hospital with complaints about feeling ill, according to Hardeman County Sheriff Delphus Hicks.
The inmate was identified as Linda Horton, 55, of Selmer.
Hicks said Horton had been sentenced to 10 years for forgery and was waiting to be sent to the Tennessee Department of Correction.
Horton complained to a corrections officer that she was feeling sick Thursday night, Hicks said.
Hicks also said Horton was on medication and had been taken to the hospital a couple of weeks ago. He would not say what medication Horton was taking or give the reason she was taking it.
Hicks said an investigation had begun Friday to determine the cause of death.
