| Inmate Recaptured After 27 Years |

A Georgia inmate who walked away from a prison work detail 27 years ago is back behind bars. Emmett Bass is a convicted armed robber who escaped from cutting detail in Spalding County in 1978. The U.S. Social Security office notified the state of Georgia this week that Bass was living in Atlanta collecting monthly Social Security checks. Bass was arrested without incident. |
