| Jail inmate found hanged in cell |

A Washoe County, Nev., Jail inmate who had been arrested last Monday hanged himself with bedsheets in his cell last week, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office reported. Jail staff discovered the 54-year-old man's body during a routine cell check about 2 p.m. and began lifesaving measures. The inmate was transferred to Washoe Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The man had been booked Monday on one count of petty larceny. His name was not released while officials notify his family. |
